Does anyone know of any furniture stores that carry funky dining room tables?
I have looked everywhere for a dining table that will fit six people. I want a frosted glass top and a contemporary funky kind of look. I have looked at 100's of tables and can't find what I'm looking for. I don't want to spend more than $1,000 for the table if possible. Help please.
this online store is totally funky - never bought from it though. http://www.inmod.com/diningtables.html See More

What are the uses of many spoons and forks on the dining tables in hotels?
I feel that spoons, forks and knives are too much in dining tables in hotels. Ok, one can be for salad, one for the main course and one for desserts. But still the number seems to be more than we need. And also, Is there a special spoon for soups?

Is it too late to train a 4 year old cat to stop jumping on counter tops and dining room tables?
I recently adopted an extremely loveable 4 year old cat named Bugsy. He's so sweet. However, every chance he gets, he jumps on the dining room table and kitchen counter tops. I just don't think it's sanitary. His feet and his fanny goes in and out of a litter box where he does his business. Catch my drift? I've tried contact sticky paper, squirtting him with water, nothings working. Am I in over my head?
Set mouse traps...odds are very slim that the cat will get cought in one, and even if it does, it won't hurt it. The noise of the snapping ... See More

What do you think of glass dining room tables?
I have a small dining room, so someone suggested I get a glass dining room table so it appears to take up less space. But someone else said that it is weird to be able to look at people's legs/feet through the glass while you are eating. Any ideas or opinions on this interior design case ?
It depends on what kind of style/decor you have/want. I think they look cool/modern, especially if the legs are black iron. If you put a ... See More

What ever happened to formica/laminate dining room tables?
I want only one table for dining in my home. I really miss the formal formica dining room tables of the 70's. You didn't need a pad. You didn't need to hide the table with a tablecloth. You could throw your keys and your groceries on it. You could work at it and you could dine at it. Does anyone make such a thing anymore?
Check out Goodwill stores and keep an eye on Craigslist. I picked one up (for my front porch) at a Goodwill for $5. All it needed was ... See More
what does the rooster/chicken symbolize on dining tables?
I see a lot of American homes have these scupltures, and dishes all full of pictures that portray roosters and chickens. It has got to have some meaning to it, although its aesthetics could be one thing.
What's the name of that plate or platter used to protect dining tables from hot dishes?
It's driving me nuts trying to think of the name. It's just any inert (ie, non-electric) gizmo - usually ceramic, I guess - that goes under a hot serving plate or bowl to protect the table. TIA
A hot pad?? I can't remember what my mom calls it either, dang!! See More
